Katherine's Fraction Scribepost

HOMEWORK: 



1). 3/4 ÷ 1/3 = 

     Question: How many groups of 1/3 are in 3/4?

Before you solve the problem, you must estimate first. 
       
       Estimate: >1, meaning greater than 1. 

Then you do the math:

















After you have found the reciprocal, and you have done the math, you can now make a diagram.



















2). 4/5 ÷ 3/10 =

     Question: How many groups of 3/10 are in 4/5?

Before you solve the problem, you must estimate first. 
       
       Estimate: >1meaning greater than 1.

3). 1 1/4 ÷ 3/8 =

To make this question easier, turn the mixed fraction into an improper fraction. 

1 1/4 = 5/4

     Question: How many groups of 3/8 are in 5/4?
