Lloyd's Proportion post
Part 1 Define
Ratio: A comparison of 2 quantities that have the same unit of measure
Example:
Footballs to all the balls is 3:5
Rate: Compares 2 quantities measured in different units
Example: Usain Bolt travels 100 mt in 9 seconds is 100mt/9sec
Proportion: Equation that tells 2 ratios are equal
Example:
Part 2 Answer using proportion statements
1. 5 hours to travel 360 km is about km/h
2. Emma saves 28 cents of every dollar she earns. Emma earned 75 dollars last week. How much money did she save last week. She saved 21$
Part 3 what are three ways that you can prove equivalent ratio statements are true
Example: Usain Bolt travels 100 mt in 9 seconds is 100mt/9sec

Part 5 What do you think about this image below.
1. Does this seem fair?
2.With what do you know about proportion look and read what is in the image above Does it seem just and fair?
3.Why you made this choice?
4.What would you have done if you were the judge?
1.No its not fair
2.No its not even fair
3.Because the homeless man only stole 100$ and he's sent to jail for 15 years and the other guy stole 3 billion $ and he's sent to jail for 40 months. That's not even close to fair.
4.If I was the judge I would send the homeless guy to jail for 3 months and I would send the other guy to jail for 15 months.
Bonus question
How many peaches are on the front cover of the traffic box?
There are 12 peaches in 1 basket and there are 18 baskets.
There are 216 peaches on the front cover of the traffic box
