Stephanie's Proportion Post

Rate: A comparison of two quantities that have different units of measure.

Ratio: A comparison of two quantities that have the same measure.

Proportion: An equation which states that two ratios are equal.

Part 2

1. 5 hours to travel 360 kilometers is about __72___km/h.

2. Emma saves 28 cents of every dollar that she earns.  Emma earned $75 last week.  How much money did Emma save last week?
0.28 x $75 = 21

Part 3
What are the three ways you can prove that equivalent ratio statements are true?

3/4 = 12/16 or 4/9 = 16/32

1. You do the calculation by multiplying
2. You can do it by dividing.
3. You can use your times table.

Part 4

Part 5

1. No, I do not think this is fair at all.
2. No, it isn't just and fair.
3. I've made this choice because, stealing a $100 bill and being in jail for 15 years isn't fair.
4. What I have said is "stealing $100 bill and going to jail for 15 years is crazy. You should only go to jail for 15 years if you murder someone."

The trail is a mile long. And the guy takes 30 mins to finish walking the trail. If he walked a trail 2 miles long, how long would it take to finish walking it?

  1. It looked pretty simple and it had most of the following things needed. I give you 2 stars. Next time, add a little more effort and detail.
