### Jalaire's Integer Scribepost

3 Questions from the Subtracting/Removing Integers Worksheet. (First column)

Question 1: (-7) - (-4)

Owe 7 remove Owe 4.
Standard Form: -7 - (-4) = -3

Take out the brackets, but leave the brackets in the -4, because it separates the subtraction sign from the negative sign.
Put the answer back into the standard form question, after you have modelled it.

Question 2: (+1) - (-2)

Have 1 remove Owe 2.
Standard Form: 1 - (-2) = 3

Take out the positive sign in the 1 because it is redundant.
*Redundant- You don't need it there.
Put the answer back into the standard form question, after you have modelled it.

Question 3: (-3) - (+7)

Owe 3 remove Have 7.
Standard Form:  -3 - 7 =

Take out the brackets on both integers. Also take out the positive sign in +7, because the (+) is redundant. The brackets are also redundant, it's not needed.
Put the answer back into the standard form question, after you have modelled it.
